January 17, 1924 – March 22, 2014


Griswold – Blanche H. Robillard, 90, of Griswold, CT, formerly of Merritt Island, FL passed away Saturday March 22, 2014 at Apple Rehabilitation in Colchester.
She was born January 17, 1924 in Plainfield, CT eldest daughter to the late Frank and Minnie (Lavigne) Blanchard.  On September 5, 1942 in Jewett City she was married to Clement W. Robillard, Jr.   He predeceased her after 53 years of marriage.
Blanche worked at the Norwich State Hospital for many years.  She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.  She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her family and friends.  She was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her two grandchildren Roxanne Rondeau, Dennis Rondeau and his wife Karen, four great grandchildren Maygan and Marshall Richard, Danielle and Melanie Rondeau, a sister Claire Lenoir, two brothers Raymond Blanchard and his wife Carol, and Charles Blanchard and his wife Donna, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her beloved husband she was predeceased by a son Clement W. Robillard, III, a daughter Diana I. Rondeau, two sisters Rita Samboy, Irene Deloge, and a brother Frank (Buster) Blanchard.
Calling hours will be 5:00-7:00PM Thursday at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT.  Funeral will assemble on Friday at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home at 2:00PM for a 3:00PM Mass of Christian burial at St. Thomas Church, Voluntown. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Griswold.  At this time the family will also inter the ashes of her daughter Diana I. Rondeau who passed away on September 9, 2013 in Florida.
